Antique Katana sword in Ornate Mounting

Swordsmith school: TANEAKI

Antique Katana long blade made by swordsmith Minamoto TANEAKI in 1912, Taisho period. The blade is in excellent condition as it was created in about 111 years ago. The smith name of and his location (Tokyo), and completion date are inscribed on the tang. Created with a beautiful waved tempered-line pattern on the blade. Registered as Hozon paper "Well Preserved Sword" by NBTHK (Japan Sword Preservation Society) that is given to the well-preserved sword with artistic value. The blade comes in a complete Tachi style ornate mountings. A Shirasaya wooden storage holder also comes with.
