Swordsmith: Koyamau MUNETOSHI

A quality Katana sword from SAMURAI STORE. Antique Katana long blade made by one of the most reputable swordsmith families, Katayama MUNETOSHI in 1863 (Late Edo era). Stunningly beautiful, irregular zig-zag Gunome-Choji hamon tempered line pattern on blade. Very well designed, very well balanced.  Munetoshi has been active as sword artisan between 1854-1868, and this blade was made in 1863. His name and completion year are inscribed on the tang of the blade. It has only one rivet hole on tang, and this means the blade has never been modified, and has been used by one user or/and used as a treasurable display piece for hundreds years. The blade was certified to TOKUBETSU Hozon paper "Extremely Well-Preserved Sword" by NBTHK (Japan Sword Preservation Society), a higher-ranked certificate than standard. Comes in a complete set of antique ornate mounting, including a dark brown lacquered magnolia scabbard and a great Tsuba hand guard featuring a Spider on the Web.

The blade comes with Certificate of NBTHK Japan Sword Preservation Society - Tokubetsu Hozon Paper (Extremely Well preserved sword)
