Antique suit of armor and Myochin Kabuto Edo period w/ Tokubetsu-Kicho Certificate

A quality antique armor from mid-late Edo period (1700's). The principle parts of this authentic antique Yoroi are made out of leather and iron. The Maru-Do cuirass is assembled from Iyozane leather scales. The kabuto helmet was made and inscribed by Myochin Yoshimasa, a student of Yoshimichi, one of the three early masters of the Myochin family of armor makers from 1600's. It is composed of 8 separate iron plates, each with its own specific proportions. When joined, they result in the perfectly formed kabuto seen here. Helmet features a Kashiwa (oak tree) crest that has been widely used in Japan. The header board and Fukikaeshi ear guards have Kashiwa tree crests. Registered as Tokubetsu Kicho paper "Important historical armor" by The Association for the Research and Preservation of Japanese Helmets and Armor. The original storage box, display stand, and all pieces shown in the catalogue come with.
